Botox® Experiences - Judy Imhoff

I have not had the most wonderful experience with Botox®. I had 10 injections on the right side of my face on September 17, 2003, (1 in the forehead, 4 around my eye and 5 from my ear to my chin near the jawbone).

The next 4 days were wonderful, no spasms and I was looking like myself again! Then it happened, my eye started swelling to the point I could not see. My lower lip, nose and cheek started to spasm again and I couldn’t drive. Once again I had lost my independence and my husband had to take me to work and pick me up everyday.

On October 10, 2003 I had an angiogram and when I woke up I could see. The swelling around my eye had improved greatly. I questioned the doctor that did the procedure but he could not explain what happened. I saw Dr. Parrish on October 10, 2003 and he explained that probably the Botox® had settled around the optic nerve and that is what was causing the the swelling and loss of sight.

Personally I would never have another Botox® treatment again even it this was the only treatment available.

Now I have to wait until the Botox® wear off to have the MVD surgery. If I had only known there was another treatment option before I had the Botox®.
