Botox® Experiences - Kathy Odom

I've suffered with HFS for approximately 12 years. During this time, I have received numerous Botox® injections. The shortest duration being six months apart. The procedure has never been too unpleasant. Usually within 3 days I notice the effects - mainly my left eye doesn't shut completely and I'm unable to squint. My left eye looks bigger than the right eye. The next few weeks are the most stressful. I feel like my face is somewhat distorted when trying to speak or smile and the spasms are trying to take over. Eventually, everything calms down, my face returns to normal, and the spasms go away for several months, or years.

The last Botox® injection I received was 10/30/01. It had been 3 years since my previous injections - back in 1998. For some reason my HFS was in "remission" for several years.
