Botox® Experiences - Lois Harvey

It wasn't until early this year when my son-in-law surfed the net to find HFS (mainly I guess to see if it was in the genes) that a whole new world of wonderful caring people came into my life and I did wonder what I was doing having Botox®

The same Neurologist has been giving me injections every three months for ten years around the eye, cheek and near the lips but nothing lower than the lips. In that time I experienced all the ghastly side effects others have experienced. Around year five I really felt he was watering down Botox® for little results ensured. Because of dry mouth extending into my throat I managed to only go six months without it.

I went back to get some put in around the eye area to open the eye. I had difficulty reading and doing my counted cross-stitch, a nightly must. He managed to get two injections in near mouth area before I could safely devise a way of letting him know to stick to agreed plan. Everything blew up very quickly after that when I couldn't get answers to questions of why he had never spoke of surgery and what were the statistics of how many years had people been having a successful outcome with Botox® before it became ineffective and awful side effects happened. I think it's all about if you sell apples, that’s what you do to make a living.

My thoughts on Botox® is have it for as long as it takes you to realize that HFS is not going away, try and live with it or have the surgery.

At 68 years of age if I can last another ten years before I fall off the perch, I guess that will be enough of the HFS.
