Botox® Experiences - Sharon Erwin

I took Botox for only 1 1/2 years. But that was enough to realize that it wasn't going to do the trick. At first, it did relieve the spasms, but left the right side of my face very droopy. I couldn't drink or eat without drooling.

The next injection, 4 months later, was given in the upper lid and totally paralyzed my eye. Couldn't drive for 5 weeks.

The next came only 3 months later. It lasted only 2 months but I refused to get more until after my son's wedding because of the drooping.

The last injection only lasted a month. That is when I found the Hemifacial Spasm Association (HFSA) web site and got more support and answers.

During the time of injections, the neurologist used both Botox® and Myobloc®. I really didn't notice a difference. All of our bodies are chemically different and you must try what you are comfortable with.
