Botox® Experiences - Sandra Gerstner

I started Botox in March 2002. I could not see or feel any improvement, but continued these injections. We moved from Baltimore, MD to Asheville, NC, to Raleigh, NC and finally to Hillsborough, NC. I have had a total of 4 neurologists during this time and 3 of them did not even mention any surgery for correction.

During the 20+ times I had the injections, I had various results and side effects. It did at times slow the spasms down. However, my left eyebrow is higher than my right; my eye closes, is dry at times and teary at others; my smile is crooked; there has been numbness in and around my mouth which presented problems with drinking, biting lips and sometimes slurred or odd sounding speech.

I have discontinued the shots as of November 2007 and am looking forward to my MVD in August 2008. Anything has to be better than the Botox results.
