Symptoms Experienced:
twitching under left eye
Medications Tried: tried Clonazepam-caused stomach and gas problems/had to stop taking them.
tried Gabapentin-caused my eyes to dry out and had to stop taking them.
Alternative Treatments Tried:
went to a chiropractor just to see if accupuncture would help my situation that all other specialists said botox was virtually the only thing that would help. she found the cause of the problem--there was a blood vessel bumping up against 2 nerves that was causing the twitching--she said that this had to be corrected before anything else would make a difference. she gave me five accumputure treatments at no charge just to see if they would help, but didn't make a change.

Botox dried my eye sockets out and had to use cream, Restasis and liquid tears from my eye specialist. Am off of the cream but still use the Restasis morning and night and the liquid tears whenever I need them.

I have not had any spasms since I woke up from the surgery and at this point, THANKS TO GOD AND THE HANDS OF THE GREAT PHYSICIANS LISTED ABOVE, I am spasm free.

My husband, LeRoy and myself searched for 2 1/2 years to find the answer for HFS which was very trying. My co-worker, Amy, whose daughter had a brain tumor, surgeries and had gone through all kinds of treatments suggested that we might try accupuncture which was our big break. The chiropractor, Dr. Andrews found the initial problem, and got us an appointment with Dr. Scott Gibbs in Cape Girardeau, MO and he is a prime example of the Hypocratic Oath telling us that he had actually performed 2 MVD and suggested we go to Pittsburgh, PA to Dr. Peter Jannetta, M.D. to have this surgery. He flew to Pittsburgh, PA to view my surgery and 4 others performed by Dr. Peter Jannetta, M.D. & Dr. Raymond F. Sekula, JR M.D. that very day. The results were amazing, my husband says I look like I did 2 1/2 years ago. My face is not drawn, my left eye is completely open, my mouth is normal and now my lower dentures do fit which I had to stop wearing them.
