Treatment History
Symptoms Experienced:
The intensity of my face twitching has varied from truly distressing (my left eye almost closed and my left cheek being violently pulled towards my mouth) to being so mild that I am not aware that I am having HFS. And the frequency of face twitching has varied from occurring every few seconds to not happening at all for an entire morning.
Medications Tried: Neurontin: it made me dopey, but didn't stop the twitching.
Alternative Treatments Tried:
Acupuncture: caused slight short-term improvement, but effect didn't last.
Tried Botox?:
Yes
Still Using Botox?:

Botox Comments:
My initial experience with Botox administered by a neurologist was unsatisfactory. However, after switching to a physician who specializes in Botox treatment for HFS the results have been so good that even family members cannot tell when I am having a spasm.

Comments:
I am resisting an MVD because I don't want to risk possible complications (deafness, balance problems.), so I am looking for alternate treatments that might help.
